Got a new DSLR or mirrorless camera for Christmas? Join Jenny for the annual New Year Photography Walk at one of Newcastle’s most enchanting spots for photography. Whether you're brand new to photography or an enthusiastic amateur, this relaxed walk is designed to help you master your camera and explore the beauty of Jesmond Dene in winter.
You will learn how to set and use your new camera with hands-on guidance, begin to understand the fundamentals of how ISO, aperture and shutter speed work together to create well-exposed images, and discover some of the best photography spots in Jesmond Dene, including a stop at the iconic Armstrong Waterfalls for an opportunity to try long exposure photography to capture that milky water effect.
We’ll meet at the Jesmond Dene Visitor Centre and finish the walk at the iconic waterfalls. A sturdy tripod is recommended for long exposure shots, but don’t worry if you don’t have one—Jenny will have a tripod available to borrow (just be prepared to wait your turn!).
