A different subject for me. I wanted to show the wolf emerge from the dark thicket into the brightness of day. He looks tentatively to make sure he is safe. Painted in watercolours.

I love the colours of spring. Yellows, blues and purples. The background trees were painted in soft neutral colours to create recession. The front trees had more pigment. Some spatter and negatives shaping was used for the foreground bluebells. I'm lucky to have two lovely parks full of views like this to brighten my spring walks.

This is the first painting I?ve done from my imagination, and my 5th watercolour painting. Done on a drizzly Sunday afternoon in between cooking a family dinner. I wanted to test a set of granulating paints for the first time to see what effects I could get, using only 1 colour granulating paint and Paynes Grey, it?s created quite a moody evening effect. I?m looking forward to learning more about watercolour and developing my skills.

I painted this one for a watercolour weekly challenge on FB where the subject was fish. My goldfish is looking up towards daylight. I spattered clean water on damp paint to give the impression of light dispersion in shallow water. I like the effect of clean water pushing paint away to add interest and light.

This A3 watercolor was done as a commission for a Texas based charity called Leave it for the Pooch. They approached me in 2021 and asked if I would like to donate some of my work for their yearly raffle that raises money for animal rescue. I was very happy to be a part of this and for the last 4 years have done a special piece just for this auction and send to Texas as my contribution for this cause. "Loving Lessons" is this years painting. My daughter has always had a special bond with
