This was simply for fun and therapy. A combination of white space, line and wash and abstract watercolour inspired by a line drawing by Anna Mason, Nature Studio . . . I often do my painting, as I did here, when I?m feeling down and it always, without fail, lifts my spirits . . .

Watercolour on cold pressed paper. Caranguejo means crab in Portuguese. My one year old son loves a song about the tiny little crab. He sings and mimic a crab so I have paited this one for him. I framed it and it is in his bedroom now.

Title or Location: Ailsa Craig
Ailsa Craig is an island in the Irish Sea off the Scottish coast. Its a magical place and the colours of the sea and sky can be exquisitely beautiful. One of my favourite places to paint. This is one of a series of paintings I have done of the island.

Title or Location: Spring is Here
Spring brings beautiful colours to brighten up the dull dark winter days. I find the colours uplifting. I often do flower studies but I brought the flowers from my drafts together to create this vase of beautiful spring flowers.

Title or Location: The old man and the cat. Pollensa Mallorca.
This is a street in Pollensa, Mallorca. An old man was sitting in a seat looking down the street and opposite him a ginger cat was also sitting. Both were looking as if waiting for someone or something to appear. I thought this would make an interesting painting so I snapped the scene on my phone.

Title or Location: Relax and Feel the Calm
This is a water color painting based on a photo I took last year when visiting MT. Love the wide open spaces and the beautiful sky. This photo was taken while sitting and relaxing along a river in Bigfork. Love to enjoy the views and then incorporate into my paintings. Water colors are such a great choice for landscapes because of the way they flow and blend together just like nature.

At the age of 49, I decided to learn to paint. I have never even sketched or painted in my life. I love watercolor paintings so I started with that and I found that I love it. In February I committed to the 100 Day Project movement with D. Michelle Perry on her 100 Days of Wonder group. Each week she was giving us our Words of Wonder for each day. Day 35 was "Dew". I had already practiced water droplets for fun so I wanted to use them in a close up image of a leaf with dew on it. Th

Title or Location: Cheerful Cardinal Upon a Teacup
I painted this cardinal happily perched on a teacup as a reminder. Through all of the stress and busyness of life it is so easy to get caught up in overthinking and ignore the small beautiful moments all around us like savoring a warm cup of tea, or noticing a tiny vibrant bird outside our window. 9x12 Watercolor
